What do I need to hook up my computer to the internet?
We provide Wifi access so all you need is a computer with a wireless card.
How many people live there?
We have 5 suites for 89 people.
Will you send me a bill each month for rent?
We do not send out a monthly rent statement. Rent is due on the first day of the month. There is no late charge on the second through fifth of the month as it is a grace period. After the 5th day at 11:59pm, rent is late and there is a $50 late fee per every 15 days that payment is late.
What utilities are included in my rent?
Almost everything! Wesley House includes electricity, water, sewer, pest control & daily trash removal from building ground floor collection point. We also offer internet access and basic cable.
When do I put down a deposit?
Deposits are due at the time of signing the lease agreement and are $200. Prior to move-in, the deposit acts as a non-refundable holding deposit and converts to a security deposit upon move-in.
Can I pay my bill with a credit card? Is there an extra charge?
Great News! Wesley House will be adding an online payment feature in the near future. However, for now we accept checks, money orders, and cashier checks. We do not accept cash.
If I pay in full, do I get a discount?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a discount for paying rent in full at this time.
What size are the beds?
The beds are extra long twin size beds. Twin XL sheets will fit.
Is parking available?
Unfortunately, we do not have access to parking spaces.
When is my first payment due?
For all new residents moving in between August 13 and 15th, 2011 your first payment is due on July 15th, 2011.
If I am over 21, do I need to have a guarantor?
All of our residents are required to have a guarantor, regardless of age.
Can I request a suite or roommates?
We are more than happy to accommodate you if you have roommates you would prefer to live with. Don't have roommates? No problem! We provide roommate matching services!
What is the cost?

When can I move in?
The Fall move-in dates are August 13-15, 2011. In order to facilitate a smooth move-in, move-in time slots will be chosen at time of lease signing.
What if I need to cancel my lease?
Because Wesley House understands that unforeseen events may happen, we do offer lease transfers. You would need to find someone to take over your lease (as a lease transfer). You may pick up a copy of our lease transfer procedures in the front office.
Can I use my financial aid?
Unfortunately, since we are not directly associated with the University, we do not directly accept financial aid. However, you may use your financial aid to pay your rent as long as it is in the form of our acceptable payment methods.
How close to campus are you?
The three lanes of Bancroft Way are the only thing that separates us from the campus. The recreation and pool facility are directly across the street from us and we are about a block and a half from Sproul Plaza and Telegraph Ave.
What types of suites/rooms are available?
At Wesley House, we offer double and triple rooms for you to choose from. Our inclusive community focuses on fun social events, a shared educational experience, and first class facilities.
What types of leases are available?
We offer 9 and 12 month leases to all of our residents. For those students who sign a 9 month lease but decide to stay for the summer, we also provide summer housing.
Can additional furniture be brought into the suite?
We want your suite to feel like home so you may bring anything else you would like for your suite. Remember, all suites come fully furnished, and all furniture must stay inside the suite.
Can we decorate our suite?
We encourage residents to personalize and decorate their suites. You are allowed to hang pictures on the walls, re-arrange furniture, hang window treatments, and anything else you can think of. However, you can not move the furniture Wesley House provides out of the suite.
What do I need to bring with me when I move in?
Suites come fully furnished, so you will only need to bring your personal items. We recommend that residents speak with their roommates prior to moving in to discuss what items everyone is bringing (e.g., you do not want to have four toasters in the kitchen). For the kitchen, you will need to bring dishes, silverware, pots and pans, and cleaning supplies. For your bedroom, you will need to bring linens, towels, electronics, and personal items.
What is roommate matching?
All residents are asked to fill out a roommate matching form when they apply. Some of the categories we match people include year in school, smoking vs. non-smoking, housekeeping habits, study habits and interests. We ask all residents to fill out this form as honestly as possible so that we can match you to the best of our abilities.
